CGC Sunday School

CYF offers high school students a space to build strong Christian foundations through Bible-based teachings and fellowship with peers.

CGC Sunday School

In the early days, Sunday School didn't have an official anniversary date. However, during an exciting excursion to Taiwan, the dedicated Sunday School teachers gathered to discuss and establish a meaningful anniversary date.

Through the examination of archives, pictures, letters, and diaries, it was discovered that Cebu Gospel Church's Sunday School started with a few children in a home, using the living area "sala" and kitchen.
A picture was found showing the existence of a Sunday school way back in 1921. A diary from a certain Alice Fullerton recounted that the ministry grew to 20-25 children in 1923 -1924. Moreover, Pastor Pilar Siao recalled that "the Sunday School used the older ones to teach the younger children, like Ampi-chi and her sisters."

After much discussion, the teachers came to an agreement to set the Sunday School anniversary on June 12.

At present, Cebu Gospel Church's Sunday School has the best teaching program. Classes are held in a Sunday School building (constructed in 1983), with an annex building added later. The annex was renovated on September 27, 2009.
